Fast and friendly service, I never have an issue with any of the staff here and I've been 6-7 times since last year. Pho hoan is always a favourite spot for a summer vermicelli or hot seafood pho on a cold winter day. It is possible to modify menu items as well (ie. Take the pork or beef off pork and prawn vermicelli or no lettuce in a beef satay pho). Green tea is complimentary and before your meal (with pho) a plate of bean sprouts is available to add to your dish. Everything is served hot and fast, including appetizers.
There is unpaid parking in the surrounding lot, however the space is shared with many other businesses and can be tight getting in and out.
Pho is $11.50 for a small and $12.50 for a large.
This place fills up quick after 5:30-6:00 and can get a bit loud. Good for large groups and kids. -

We came here last week...quick service but the waitress was in a bad mood so right off the bat we were a little disappointed. We tried to order Vergil's rolls as well as shrimp rolls but she (the waitress didn't understand and became frustrated) we got the veggie rolls and each had a large pho. The menu is really good as is the food.i felt I've had better in many places but overall the pho was good. I feel the broth was a bit off...not as flavorful as some of the other pho spots in Calgary or elsewhere for that matter. I will say that the prices are fair and it's a good place to eat. I'm simply stating I've had better. The restaurant is clean and the portions are a good size. I would give this place 4 stars if the service was better and 5 stars if the broth as as good as some of the other pho restaurants I've ate at.

Service was adequate but not over the top food was acceptable. I had the chicken and spring rolls with vermicelli with the dark meat being a little tough. They demand top dollar but don't accept Amex and I should have deleted the tip. If you check my reviews I am pretty generous but not accepting American Express pisses me off to never return.

Stumbled upon this Vietnamese cuisine while in the Royal oak shopping area. Near the always busy Tim Hortons... so the parking can be a challenge at times, but as long as you're willing to walk... there is lots of parking in the entire area.
First impressions was a typical Vietnamese restaurant with the standard menu from spring rolls to soups to noodles, etc. The ambience isn't anything special... busy during the lunch hour but it was still steady when we left a couple hours later.
However, the food was stellar! All our meals were outstanding... and I don't say this lightly as I've been to plenty of Vietnamese restaurants. Hands done the most flavour and most satisfied with their portions. The vermicelli bowl came with an assortment of meats and typically the beef or chicken is somewhat dry and always taste the same from one place to the next... but at this restaurant... the chicken was awesome... tender, not dry or over cooked, and so much flavour. Had to share the chicken so everyone at the table could taste the flavour! Good job guys!
The Pho soup came in many sizes and we had a hungry man with us so he ordered the extra large and no kidding... it was massive! And yet again, soaking in flavour and spices. You can simply see all the spices in his soup.
Spring rolls were really good as well.... definitely would order those again. However the bubble tea was pretty average... nothing special... I would probably guess it's made from powder flavouring and not really fruit... but I'm not sure.
I will need to come back and try a couple more times to see how consistent the food is but I would definitely rate it 5/5 for food.
Gotta try this place out... you'll leave more then full... had to have an afternoon nap after that meal!
